My answer may not be accurate. But I hear Russian speakers in films pronounce the endings the same way. I hope someone else can weigh in on this as well.

Nusya is correct, the spelling of the word is "тут". Growing up in a bilingual Russian/English family, it just sounded like the English word, "toot," to me. I'm here to try to remember the Russian I have learned and forgotten.

Thanks for your reply, Jeremy, and the food tips and the tips on Russian. I am not much of a drinker, but I have friends and family who like to have some alcoholic beverage to choose from. I thought it would be fun to have a get together with a Russian theme. All those food ideas sound very yummy.
