Days of the week

Postby Очи чёрные » May 1st, 16, 13:35

I'm thinking of adopting a new calendar, thus it is that I'd like to use russian names for the days of the week.
The point is that I'd wish it wasn't religion/culture-related and this goes fine from понедельник to пятница, but once you get to суббота and воскресенье... I wouldn't want those in my calendar.
So the question is, what would you call days six and seven of the week?
I've thought of "Шесто́в" and "семьота".
What do you think those should be?

(In Slavonic, not in modern Russian):
суббота (saturday) = шесток, шосток, шестица, шестерик (any of these words),
Понедельник: первый день после недели (first day after неделя)
Шесток = шосток = шестица = шестерик (any of these words): шестой день после недели
_______________
Неделя = Не-дел-ание = нет дел = день без дел (day without any works - rest-day)

But I don't understand why all this is necessary, because nobody puts a special religious meaning in the Russian words суббота and воскресенье.

The End Of Days.
