tengo una duda, leí en una lección que con los verbos perfectivos no se usan en presente solo en futuro y pasado....es decir que cuando me exprese en presente solo y siempre voy a usar los verbos imperfectivos?? o hay alguna excepción?.

That is correct. Perfective verbs are only used in past or future tense because they refer to a completed action. So you use future tense to talk about your intent to complete an action. The past tense is used to talk about an action already completed. I do not know of any exceptions. Maybe someone else reading this can think of one.

Just to clarify, you can use imperfective verbs in all 3 tenses. Example: Past - Я читала книгу. It means that I spent time reading a book in the past, but I did not finish. Present - Я читаю книгу. That means I am reading a book now. I am not stating an intent to finish the book. Future - Вечером, я буду читать книгу. I'm saying that I will read a book this evening. I don't say I will finish it. A perfective verb is прочитать. So there is only a past or future form. Past - я прочитала книгу. I finished reading the book. Future - сегодня я прочитаю книгу. I intend to finish reading the book today. Hope that helps.
