My question is about grammar forms of REQUEST and ABİLİTY in Russian:
İ hope you can help me by translating the followings into RUSSIAN

Can you make cakes? (ABİLİTY)


Can you give me some cake please? ( REQUEST)

Can you make cakes? (ABİLİTY). This sentence you had better translate as: "Ты (Вы) умеешь (умеете) печь торты." Because the nearest meaning of "ABİLİTY" is "умение".
If you ask: "Ты (Вы) можешь (можете) печь торты?", you will be understood too.

Can you give me some cake please? ( REQUEST). It may be translated as this: "Можешь (Можете) дать мне немного (кусочек) пирога? REQUEST is more suitable with "Можешь"

I think these forms of translations will be appropriate to many sentences.
