Verbs of motion: unidirectional versus multidirectional

Why do we use this case here? And this verb? What rule should I use here?

Verbs of motion: unidirectional versus multidirectional

Postby MamaCaz » May 29th, 16, 16:18

I read that when talking about movement without any particular direction, the multidirectional form at the verb is used. An example given was "я хожу по парку" (I'm walking in the park).
Then I came across the following , which has left me confused"

Мы ходили в горы, потом плыли по горным рекам, потом снова ходили в горы. Я даже один раз летал на дельтаплане.

I don't get why the unidirectional, плыли, has been used here, because it seems to me to be describing a movement without any particular destination.

I don't really understand why the multidirectional летал is used either. Please can someone help me?

да, именно так, тут идет перечисление типов деятельности, а не способа добраться куда-то.

Потому что тут тоже самое, он летал на дельтаплане просто для развлечения, а не для того чтобы куда-то прилететь :)
