Hi Bagus,
it is good for you that you've started learning Russian!

As for your phrase 'Я индонезийский', the situation is the following. One may say 'Я русский' and this phrase would mean 'I am Russian'. So the word 'русский' may be used as a noun and as an adjective. However the adjectives of all the other nationalities shouldn't be used as nouns. Examples:

I am an Englishman. - Я англичанин. ('Я английский' is incorrect.)
I am Brazilian. - Я бразилец. ('Я бразильский' is incorrect.)

So instead of 'Я индонезийский' you should have written 'Я индонезиец'.

I don't know any rules connecting Russian names of countries and Russian names of people living in the countries. Usually the name of people living in a particular country is formed by replacing the last letters of the name of the country with 'ец' (Индонезия - индонезиец, Китай - китаец, Индия - индиец). 'Англичанин', 'француз', 'немец' and many other names of nationalities are not formed by 'ец'.

Hope it will help!
