"adversity is vs. adversity has been" in Russian

Why do we use this case here? And this verb? What rule should I use here?

"adversity is vs. adversity has been" in Russian

Postby ScottChang » Aug 14th, 17, 19:33

Hi all,

From Google Translate, I got the following Russian translations:
(1) No matter how hard the adversity is, we have got through.= Как бы тяжело это ни было, мы прошли.
(2) No matter how hard the adversity has been, we have got through.= Независимо от того, насколько тяжело было несчастье, мы прошли.
I am very confused with these 2 Russian translations.
Questions:
Q#1: How come "adversity is vs. adversity has been" in Russian is so different in (1) and (2)?
Q#2: What is the right Russian phrase for the "No matter how hard" phrase?
Q#3: Can you please explain the Russian grammar for "No matter how hard" and "adversity is"/"adversity has been" in (1) and (2) for me?

Please help, answer/comment, and respond.

Thanks in advance,
Scott Chang

Maybe there is a difference due to incorrect translation IS and HAS BEEN in the sentences
