Stressed Syllables

Why do we use this case here? And this verb? What rule should I use here?

Privet, name's Katherina, i stater learnng russian yesterday. so neat :D :D :D anyway i cant quiet figure out how "streesed vowels work" how do you know when a vowel is stressed? any help :D :D :D Thanks for this amazing experience, and for this great website.

I had the same Problem...The stress in Russian words is not fixed, this means that there are no rules to know which is the stressed syllable in a Russian word. You just have to memorize it!
