hi,
Mother's day is celebrated on the last Sunday of November, but not everyone is even aware of such a holiday. The major women's day in Russia is the 8th of March (unfortunately). To my mind, it would be better if we celebrated Mother's Day))

Re: meaning of так
Hi,
I wouldn't call this word a parasite. It can be used as an adverb, a conjunction and a particle, and it's really used very actively. Our thesaurus provides 12 meanings of it plus lots of expressions with it.

Re: what is награждён?
hi,
i guess it's a verb in passive voice. yes, there's direct relation between the verb награждать and the noun награда. The verb is the derivative from this noun.

Re: What are the title of these Russian novels?
Hi, obe, unfortunately I can't help you with the first novel, but I have some ideas about the second one. Maybe it was "Два капитана" (Two Captains) by В.Каверин? There was teacher Korablyov in it. If you mean some other book, I'd highly recommend you read this one too)) or you can watch i...

Hi, Christa, just a humble comment on letter Ё. Old Slavonic language has no such letter, so you won't find it in the Holy Scriptures. And we pray in Old Slavonic (though there are those who advocate for usage of modern Russian in this context). Besides, when a priest (batyushka) addresses the flock...
