meaning of так

Hi!

I'm curious to know what exactly is the word так? I hear Russian people say it a lot and I can guess that it's something like "so" at the beginning of a sentence, is that correct? Is it like a parasite word?

Thanks!

sentences with "if"

how to pronounce chocolate

Hi everyone!

I have a question about chocolate :) It seems that the word "шоколад" is pronounced like "she-ka-lad", why "she" and not "sha" according to the rule of the unstressed "o"?
p.s. Russian chocolate is very yummy :)
Спасибо за ответ!

How do you say "ready, steady, go" in Russian?

Hi everyone!
Is there any expression like "Ready, steady, go!" in Russian? Google translator says "На старт, внимание, перейдите" Is it correct?
Thanks a lot in advance!
