Re: Не Родись красивой
Когда этот сериал был текущим, я не могла его смотреть потому что он не был доступен в США. Теперь сериал доступен на YouTube. Я смотрела каждый эпизод, чтобы лучше понять русский язык. Смотреть и слушать русские фильмы и сериалы помогает вспоминать что я потеряла. Американцы любят смотреть старые ...

Это был не особо популярный сериал в своё время, так что скорее нет, чем да. Но я слышал о нём.

Re: Idioms Russian to English, English to Russian
So. Я сыта по горло с скучной работой или работою. The reason I ask is that I've seen both from some credible Russian learning sites. Also, do you need the "с " with it. I would've put it like this: Я сыт по горло этой скучной работой. No preposition required. More examples; "Я сыт п...

Re: How to pronounce "ой" adjective ending if not stressed
Can the differences in pronunciation be regional? Thanks for the insight. Yes, they can, but these are mostly minor. Basically, the distinct "o" can be heard up south, in Kuban' region. near Ukrainian border and thereabouts, however, not at the end of the word. The ending "o" co...

Indeed, second one. "I've had it up with *something or someone*"

Re: How to pronounce "ой" adjective ending if not stressed
Hi, Hard stem adjectives in genitive, dative, instrumental and and prepositional case for feminine have the ending "ой". When the stress is on the end (e.g. молодóй) it is easy to hear that "ой" pronounced consitently as "óй". But when it is not stressed it is quite ha...

Re: Которая водка естб лучная для вечеринку?
I can't advise you a good vodka, but I can advise you what you can eat with it in mind. Pickled herring, pickles, BBQ-ed meat in smaller pieces (Шашлык) (any, but bird), canapé (small square sandwiches, no more than 4x4 sm) with salami or fish. Sushi goes too; pizza, pasta or burgers don't, Dried sa...

Re: Russian Color Culture
Well, I dunno, look at museums or palaces - almost each of them is yellow/white. White might be a tribute to the ancient color of any marble column, but yellow... I don't really know. The commonplace architecture here was made during the Union, and there were few arts on the walls, like, a huge pain...

Re: Idioms Russian to English, English to Russian
Not quite. More like "I'm done with this".
However, "I'm fed up" does have an equivalent, and that would be "Я сыт по горло [существительное в творительном падеже (with something)]".
