Is a matryoshka with politicians a real matryoshka?

Postby Technolok » Jul 26th, 14, 16:22

Привет всем!

This is question for the Russian people in the forum. I have seen in a market classic matryoshkas, with the mother and the daughters (I guess they are the daughters) inside. But I have also seen other versions with, for example, the leaders of the soviet union, the Russian tsars,... and even the X-men!

Are they "real matryoshkas" or you would call them "matryoshkas"? This fashion about have matryoshkas with politicians or famous people is it an old thing or rather a modern fashion?

Thanks!

Привет!

Yes, political matryoshkas still remain matryoshkas. We call them so because of their form and it doesn't matter what images are on it: faces of famous people or traditional doll :)
I think that faces of politicians is a modern fashion. But actually I don't track the modern trends of matryoshkas :) I see them only in touristic places and I think that all these things are made only for tourists...
