What does "ничего" mean?
What does "ничего" mean?
I started learning Russian and that word appears in a dialogue. What are its uses? (I barely know any russian)
Re: What does "ничего" mean?
Hola! "Ничего" means "nothing"
Я ничего не ел целый день - I have eaten nothing for the day;
Я ничего от тебя не хочу - I want nothing of you
but we use the double negative form in Russian: Я НИЧЕГО НЕ вижу - I see nothing
It's possible to use this word in the diary speech, as a sinonym to "ok":
Как дела? - Ничего. (How are you? - I'm ok)
or as an answer for a begging pardon:
Извините, пожалуйста! - Ничего (страшного) (Excuse me! - Not at all)
Good luck!
