Saying "this is not something we are used to talk about"

Why do we use this case here? And this verb? What rule should I use here?

Saying "this is not something we are used to talk about"

Postby Phozzonunnium » Jun 18th, 15, 15:56

Hi, I have doubts
I have this phrase:
"Я знаю, это не нечто мы привыкли говорить о"
Do I have to change the verb "говорить" to match with "мы" even after it has привыкли before the verb?
Also, how can I use "привыкли" properly? Should it be in another form in this phrase?
And can I use "о" after the verb "говорить" to say "talk about", like in english?
The phrase I want to form is: "this is not something we are used to talk about"
Thanks ! :)

hi,

"Я знаю, это не нечто мы привыкли говорить о" - так не говорят по-русски.
"this is not something we are used to talk about" is translated as "Это не то, о чем мы привыкли говорить".
you can't put "говорить о" at the end of the sentence like in English without an object.
