Another soviet who was the best in his discipine is Sergei Bubka. His discipline was pole vault. He won six championships, one olimpic gold medal and he broke the world record more than 30 times.

Maria Sharapova, now a days she is considered one of the best tennis player. For example she won the Roland Garros.
