Hi!
Pronunciation 'Щ' is softer than 'Ш' (between 'Ш' and 'Ч'). The sound anyway happens if pronouncing 'ша', 'шо', 'шу', 'шы', 'шэ' regardless of the spelling ('шОлк' in 'шёлк', 'парашУт' in 'парашют', 'шЫть' in 'шить', 'шЭсть' in 'шесть').
The sound 'Щ' happens after 'ще', 'щё', 'щи', 'щю', 'щя' ( 'щЮка' in 'щука','щЯвель' in 'щавель')
