I am from Hungary. I learned english before and I realized that russian is harder to learn than english but much easier for a hungarien than a native english speaker. E.g.:
- we have explicit letters for soft russian variants in our alphabet like "ty" for ть, "gy" for дь etc etc.
- grammar structures also easier to understand eg. in english "i like it" while russian says "a thing does pleasing me" where the verb belongs to the object and personal pronoun in dative. It is the same structure in hungarien.
- many more like these..., and also some funny identity which I dont know yet how come
